Erected by Michael McCarty in memory of his [father] Patt McCarty, who deprtd. this life on the 28th Novr. 1847, aged 50 years. Also his mother Ellen McCarty, who deptd. this life on the 26th day of April 1848, aged 39 yrs. May they rest in peace. Remember man as you pass by, that fatal death is drawing nigh; renounce this world and all its pride, and pray to God to be your guide.
